Who we are

Tamanas is operated by Data Genome d.o.o., a company registered in Serbia (tax ID / PIB: 113389225). This page explains how to tell us about content on Tamanas that you believe infringes your copyright, and what we do when you do.

What this covers

Content that people post on Tamanas: photos on wishes, wishlist cover photos, profile photos, and text such as titles and descriptions. A wish can also link to a product page on another website. That page isn't ours, so we can remove the link from Tamanas but not the page itself.

We have a dedicated tool for removing photos from wishes. Cover photos, profile photos and text are removed by hand.

This page is mainly about copyright. You can use the same address, and the same kind of notice, to report other content on Tamanas that you believe is illegal.

How to send a notice

Email copyright@tamanas.com. Every notice needs:

  • the exact address on Tamanas of each item, such as the link to the wish, wishlist or profile, and, for a photo, the photo's own address if you have it;
  • why you believe the content is infringing or illegal;
  • your name and email address;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that your notice is accurate and complete.

For a copyright notice, please also include the following, so that your notice also meets the requirements of US copyright law (the DMCA):

  • the work you believe is being infringed;
  • your postal address and phone number;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorized by the rights holder, their agent or the law;
  • a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act for them;
  • your physical or electronic signature.

If something we need is missing, we'll ask you for it.

What happens next

We review each notice. If we decide it's valid and the content is on Tamanas, we remove it, keep a record of the notice and of what we did, email the person who posted it to say what was removed and why, and reply to you. We don't share the poster's account details with you beyond what is already public on Tamanas.

What removing a photo does

  • We take the photo off the wish (the wish itself stays) and delete the copies we stored for that wish: the original and every resized version. If the photo was shown straight from another website, we have no copy of it, so we remove it from the wish.
  • Our storage keeps a backup copy of each deleted file, which is deleted automatically after 30 days. It isn't publicly available.
  • Photos we store are delivered through a content delivery network, and our website can keep its own cached copies to display them. When we remove a photo after a notice, we ask the network to drop the copies it has cached, and we clear our website's cache.
  • Copies that already left our systems are outside our control: copies kept by browsers, search engines, link previews on other websites and apps, or anyone who saved the photo. We can't take back a photo address that has already been shared.

If the same photo comes back

When we remove a photo that someone added from a store's product page, we put it on a block list. After that, when someone uses AI Suggestions on our website, our server won't download the photo again from that exact address. Where we were able to fingerprint the store's original file, our server also won't pass on an exact copy of that file found at another address.

The block list only covers downloads made by our server. In our mobile apps, AI Suggestions can still offer that photo; if someone picks it, it's shown straight from the store's website. The block list also doesn't stop someone from uploading a copy of the photo themselves. If either happens, send us a new notice.

If your content was removed

If something you posted was removed and you believe that was a mistake, for example because you own it or have permission to use it, reply to our email or write to copyright@tamanas.com. Include your name and contact details, the link to the wish or other item, what was removed, and why you believe the removal was a mistake, with a statement that this is true to the best of your knowledge.

We'll review it and tell you what we decided. We don't restore removed photos. You can also write to us if you sent a notice and disagree with how we handled it.

Repeat infringement

We may suspend or close the accounts of people who repeatedly post content that infringes others' rights, as our Terms of Service allow.
